Slow ballad

This is a beautiful acoustic ballad in a slow relaxing rhythm.

In the back ground ensemble of wood bass, drums, piano and the guitar, beautiful introduction by the cello is played.

This beautiful twin cello melody can be listened throughout the song, and it seems to be played by cellists "Hugo Pilger" and "Marcio Malard". (Youtube-Marcio Malard)

Lisa Ono's vocal is elegant and calm as usual, and brings a relaxed air.

The queen of Bossa nova

Lisa Ono is a Brazilian born Japanese singer-songwriter active since 1989. She has been passionately singing Brazilian music, particularly Bossa nova after debut.

In the recent Japanese popular music world, there are no comparable Bossa nova singer in terms of both quality and quantity. So, she is often called as "The queen of Bossa nova" now a days.

Meeting with Tom Jobim

Since debut, she has been enthusiastically collaborating with many of the prominent Brazilian musicians.

And in 1994 she finally succeeded to work jointly with a Bossa nova legend, Antônio Carlos Jobim (Tom Jobim) on his 1958 song "Estrada Branca" for her 6th album "Esperanca"(Hope).

Partnership with Jobim family

Working with legend must be a good opportunity for her to introduce herself to Paulo and Daniel Jobim.

As a result, she achieved a wish to collaborate with them, on her 10th album "Bossa Carioca" in 1998.

On this album, Paulo & Daniel Jobim has engaged as a producer and arranger, and adapted all 13 songs on this CD.

Additionally, Paulo played the guitar, and Daniel performed the piano. It is another curious listening point.

After this album, Paulo & Daniel Jobim are frequently collaborating with Lisa Ono whenever possible.

In the recent Lisa Ono's album "Brasil"(2014), they have taken part in.

Here is a music clip from "Brasil".
