Masayoshi Takanaka Composer & Arranger
"Masayoshi Takanaka" is a composer & arranger of this song, and we would like to come back to him later in "About the artist" section.
But it might be a good idea to note just a bit about his "Mambo No.6" in here.
"Mambo No.6"
Takanaka's "Mambo No.6" is a guitar instrumental music, composed by him in 1980, after getting inspired by a famed Mambo classic, "Mambo No.5" created by "King of the Mambo" Pérez Prado.
"Mambo No.5(1950)
by "Pérez Prado"
Before "No.6", Takanaka released a disco arranged version of Pérez Prado 's "Manbo No.5", as "Manbo No.5 (DISCO DANGO)" in 1977 in his album "TAKANAKA", and a single.

And in 1980, he released his "Mambo No.6" in his 6th album "T-Wave", which is the song we are introducing today.
Lou Bega's "Mambo No.5"
Other prominent example of "Mambo No.5" might be Lou Bega's dance-pop cover in 2009.

Sound impression
Tropical Latin
This seems to be a Latin Fusion in moderated Mambo rhythm.
Gorgeous
The drums, bass, percussions, acoustic piano, and brass section play a short introduction, and the main melody starts.
A large brass section creates a gorgeous atmosphere from the beginning to the end of the song.
"Takanaka"'s expanding guitar sound plays hot & passionated Latin melody, but overall impression is fairly relaxed.
