3. Sound impression
This had been a hidden gem of a duet song in the '80s AOR style.
Only fans of "Sai" and "Kubota" used to know the song, but the song has been recently brought back as a nice duet song for adults.
It is a characteristic AOR sound of the 80's, and a typical "Kubota" melody as well.
The cool guitar *riff in the melody is played by Yuji Toriyama, the arranger of this song, and a well known super guitarist.
Now, he is participating a brilliant Jazz and fusion band called "Pyramid", together with "Akira Jimbo"(dr) and "Hirotaka Izumi"(key).

Etsuko Sai's vocal is pure and clear, like an atmosphere of a bright winter morning.
A duet partner is "Toshinubu Kubota". The American fans might recollect his name as "Toshi Kubota" in the mid '90s, with a song like this.

He is a pioneer of contemporary R&B in Japan, which was not yet well understood in the market in the late '80s.
And now, he is a leading singer and a song writer for R&B in Japan.
5. About the artist
Estuko Sai debuted in 1984 with single "Reach Out". Since then, 13 singles, and 12 original, 3 best albums has been released until now.
(Wikipedia, Estuko Sai)
The timing of her debut coincided with the most thriving period of Japan. Therfore, many of her songs reflected the active life of young urban women.
So, her songs are still stylish and lively even for the modern ears, because of the simple but high quality arrangement, and her cool clear voice which fits well for the songs with urban image.
It seems she has stopped the activity in music since the mid-'90s.
We hope if we can listen her new song someday.
