  1. Sound impression

Calm and elegant

It's a slow, calm and elegant melody of the Bossa Nova.

The participated instruments are, the bass, drums, piano and the latin flute.

This simple ensemble creates a natural and rich Brazilian sound.

Since all the instruments plays softly, then Lisa's vocal becomes clearer.

For this song, the guitar(nylon-string guitar) is not participated.

So, this song is more like a lounge jazz, than authentic Bossa nova.

"Venus" of Bossa Nova

Lisa Ono debuted in 1989 with single "You're so unique". Since then, 9 singles, and 33 original, 12 best albums has been released until now.
(Wikipedia, Lisa Ono)

Lisa Ono was born in Brazil and grown until 10 years old, since her parents, both Japanese, were running a "live house(small live music club)" in São Paulo.

After return to Japan, her farther re-opened a "Live restaurant" for Brazilian music in Tokyo. Hundreds of Brazilian musician came and performed tons of good "live" tunes in there.

Naturally, she was in the restaurant, and showered with the fine music played by authentic musicians throughout her childhood to youth.

This experience resulted in a gifted education for her, and gave an outstanding sensibility for music as well as skills for multilingual.

Japan is one of the country which Bossa Nova is fairly popular. And quite a few of domestic singers shows a pretty good performance.

But, the debut of Lisa Ono was a bit of shock for music fans. Because, her songs were surprisingly authentic, and nice.

She soon picked up an applause, and her 2nd plus 3rd albums, released in 1990-1991, both given a " Japan Gold Disc Award" for Jazz category.

She dedicated her passion to Brazilian music, and now she is the most well known, respected star of Bossa nova in Japan.

So, she is a pioneer, and the brightest star of Bossa nova. It is like like "The evening star(Venus)".

Also she is the most admired beautiful female star. So, we can call her a "Venus"(Goddess)of Bossa nova... Sorry dude.
