Loves cholus

Junko Yamamoto debuted in 1970 with single "Jinsei(Life)" as one of 5 members of '70s legendary folk chorus group "Akai tori (red bird)".

Their song "Tsubasa wo kudasai"(Give me wings) had been used as a material for music textbook on elementary schools for a long time. So this is one of the soul music for the Japanese over 30.

After break up in 1974, she formed new chorus oriented city-pop group named "Hi-fi set" with 2 other members, and released many of smash hits.

In 1994, she started a solo career with album "Junko Yamamoto", then 6 singles and 11 albums has been on sale so far. (Data from Wiki.)

Since debut, her direction to music is beautiful, harmonic and stylish way.

She sticked on to this line even in a group, namely "Hi-fi set", and such music style was well supported by the "New music" movement rose in the late 70s to mid 80s.

As a result she and her group became one of the key player in "New music".

The style of the popular music is subject to change day by day. But "Junko Yamamoto" is one of the singer, not chasing a fashion, but continues to push towards her own style of music always.

We'd like to post other good song of her in next opportunity.
