  1. Sound impressions

Calm & mellow

This is a calm and silent, touch sentimental mellow pop in slow swinging speed.

Impressive high-fret strumming of the guitars opens an introduction, and the stable bass sound follows.

The shining tone of the keyboard, and the soft and gentle horn section create rich sound space. And the beautiful breezy chorus takes part in, as if it is a wind blowing in the time.

Naomi Chiaki's vocal is as beautiful as it gets, and relaxes listeners a lot.

A symbolic soul singer of Japan

She was incredibly good at singing, and her voice was sweet and beautiful, so, it did not take much time for her to catch millions of fans.

At the same time, perhaps because of her show-woman ship, she actively appeared on TV programs, and even tried and enjoyed a many of comedy skits which authentic singers like her usually stand off.

This friendly, but professional attitude really impressed the audience, and she naturally became one of the most popular and preferred "Enka" singer in Japan.

Stopped singing

Naomi Chiaki however stopped all of her activities in entertainment business, when her partner passed away in 1992.

Since then, some 25 years has been past, but she is still keeping a quietness.

In spite of such long silence, she is still one of the most loved and respected singer, and a special music programs about her are occasionally broadcasted.

We would like to post any news about her if we see it.
