  1. Sound impressions

Relaxed & mellow pop song

This is a relaxed mellow pop song at a middle speed in 8 beat.

An ensemble of the drums, bass, and the acoustic guitar creates a refreshing rhythm, and the keyboard and synthesizer add a pastel-colored image to the song.

Mai Yamane's husky, but touchy voice fits with the sentimental lyrics and projects the other kind of cuteness.

  1. About the artist

A piquant artist of rock-a-ballad

Mai Yamane, who is addressed as "A-sha" recently, debuted in 1979 with single "Gozen 0 ji(AM0:00)". Since then, 4 singles, and 14 original, 1 best albums has been released until now.
(Wikipedia, Mai Yamane)

The timing of her debut, namely 1979, was a period nearing the peak of the "City-pop" boom.

Mai Yamane was also expected to be a singer in this category, and the production office provided high quality staffs like "Makoto Matsushita", "Minoru Mukaiya" for the recording of her albums.

Thanks to the effort of the team, her 1st and 2nd albums turned out as a superb quality city-pop records which are still praized as masterpieces.

But it appeared that her flair was more in the soul, rock-a-ballad field. Her music style moved gradually in that direction.

She continued to release good albums, and became a star of the rock-a-ballad, having an attractive husky voice and a shout.

She looked like maintained a strong interest for spirituality.

After traveling all around the world, she married with "Takao Yamada", of a famous meditation specialist, and learned esoterica from him.

Regrettably, Mr. Yamada passed away in 2003. She inherited his spilit and continueing the activities as an instructor after that.

At the same time, she is continueing more conceptual music named "Awakening Music" focusing on the nature of the human.

Her earlier albums are difficult to get, since the supply is unstable and rather expensive. The 4 albums on the apple music seems to be a only realistic commercial source of her music at the moment.
