An ultimate rhythm team
Tetsuo Sakurai is a super Jazz bassist, and a member of Jimsaku.
He is a talented melody maker as well. He produced a few of nice instrumental music for a great fusion unit Casiopea while he was a member.
He has also created some pop music for the singers like "Atsuko Nina". They are all excellent pop tunes in stylish fusion sound.
Erich Bulling is a Chilean arranger, composer, keyboardist & a guitarist active since the mid 70's.
He is a reputed Latin musician, and also known as a music creator for an American drama film, Dirty Dancing in 1987.

- Sound impressions
Stylish Latin fusion
This is a nice arrangement of the Andean music and modern fusion. The melody is fairly nostalgic typical Andean music, but the rhythm is enjoyable and bouncy taste of fusion.
The ensemble of the bass, drums, keyboards, and the Latin guitar opens the melody, then characteristic sound of Quena and zampolla(Siku) start a beautiful call & response.
In the middle of the music, wistful sound of the violin and the accordion join, and also boost the charm of the melody.
Sakurai & Jimbo well controlled their extreme skills in this tune, , and was concentrating on creating a harmony as a band.

(Wikipedia, Jimsaku)
"Jimsaku" was a band made up of Tetsuo Sakurai(bass) and Akira Jimbo(Drums).
It was splitted from one of the Japan's most prominent fusion group "Casiopea" in 1990.
Both Sakurai & Jimbo were golden members of "Casiopea", who greatly contributed to the band at the pinnacle of its popularity.
Their superhuman drumming and bass play strongly attracted the fans in all over the world.
In 1990, because of the directional differences between the members, Sakurai & Jimbo decided to form a new unit, and it became the band "Jimsaku".
At the beginning of the band, they focused on the Latin style fusion music, by receiving support from various Latin musicians.
For example, the following members were involved for "Jimsaku", the 1st album of "Jimsaku".
Musician:
Joakin Bello(Strings),
Paulinho DA Costa(Per),
James Harrah(G),
Mark Gasbarro(K),
Jerry Hey(T&F), Gary Grant(T&F),
Gray Herbig(Sax&Fl),
Bill Reichenbach(Tr),
Lew McCreary(Tr),
Viviana Costamanso(Vo).

This crossover style of Latin and fusion music in super playing technique were fresh surprise for music market, and drawing attention from fans.
After the first album, their music style gradually moved to put more emphasis on the playing technique. We would like to continue on it for the next opportunity.
